🐣 Are You Still Looking For Easter Eggs?

Will you be searching for Easter eggs? Or paint them? Or at least go on an Easter outing? Or ignore Easter? Either way, most of us have a few more days off than usual and are enjoying this time in some way.

Besides Easter, two other things have happened:

  1. The days, by definition, got an extra hour of daylight in the evening a few days ago (called summertime).
  2. More than a quarter of the year is already over.

In other words: What you haven't started seriously so far of your plans, wishes or resolutions for 2022, you will hardly realize this year.

Unless you start right now, and MASSIVELY!

I always find it amazing that most leadership teams in companies do a lot operationally, but too little strategically.

According to my guiding principle that you should not chase success, but attract it by what you become, you should have already become much more attractive. And that means for your employees, your customers, your market and - yes! - also for money.

So my question is: Are you looking for Easter eggs or are you so attractive as a person, leadership team or company that the Easter bunnies come to you? I mean that metaphorically, of course, in the sense of business attractiveness.

If you still want to get a jump on things and hit the ground running in 2022 as a result, here are 3 crisp ideas for the next 9 months:

  1. Set goals.
Write down exactly 3 very specific goals that you absolutely MUST achieve in 2022 to consider yourself successful. No, not an entire strategy, nor 100 soft goals, nor "5% more sales". No, I mean really substantial goals that will take you a big step forward. As a leadership team, agree on EXACTLY these 3 CONCRETE goals.
  2. Define metrics.
For each of the 3 goals, set 3 specific metrics and target values that will tell you if you are well on your way after one month. Which milestones do you absolutely need to achieve in the next 30 days? Without ifs and buts! Again, be specific. "We'll call more former customers" doesn't cut it. Instead, "By the end of next month, we'll have won 20 new contracts from existing customers."
  3. Prioritise correctly.
Reduce time spent on everything else to under 50%. See, I'm being realistic. You will always spend half of your time on something less important. But you need to spend at least 50% on the three core goals. Stop the rest.

You say you don't need that? You have your goals? Then I ask you: how much have you really progressed already this year? Simple methods almost always beat complicated ones. That's why my 3 points. Simple.
