You do not seen what you cannot see!

This headline might sound weird, but stick with me and watch the video.

In my workshops, I love to tell this story: When you walk on the streets, there will be somebody passing you who could have a huge impact on your future life. This person will open up an opportunity for you that you didn’t even think of before. After your conversation with this person, your life will completely change to the positive, whether it’s relationship, money, impact or the like.

Here comes the trick: You don’t know what this person looks like and who he or she is. How much chance do you have to find this person? If a thousand people or so will pass you, can you stop everybody to ask? Theoretically yes, but nobody would. Why not? Because you don’t believe entirely that this opportunity is real. You will think: ‘that’s too much effort for this tiny chance. ‘

Let’s change the game completely by changing just one little detail: This time I tell you exactly what this person looks like and when he or she will pass you. How easy is this? Now you can simply approach this person and get into the conversation.

Isn’t this like in real life? Each day, there are business and personal opportunities passing you. You are just not at all able to see them, because you don’t know what they “look like”., and nobody tells you.

Let me tell you this: the most accomplished people have systems in place that allow them to spot opportunities at a much higher rate than the average person. This is their key reason for success. How do they do it? Here are my 3 favorite methods:

  1. Get out on the streets, metaphorically! Too many people and, in particular, business leaders are kept in their own “little world” of daily challenges, routines, successes and the same people. Successful people are “out there” to feel the buzz, so see what’s going on. They go to conferences outside of their key expertise area; they attend mastermind groups, and the like.
  2. Become clear about your ideal opportunity! It’s hard to hit a goal that you don’t know. Just answer this question: what one thing must change for me to double my success, or my income, or my happiness? Many people (yes: also senior leaders!) complain about the situation, but cannot spontaneously answer this simple question. Important: your answer must be something you can influence!
  3. Be non-judgmental! This is BIG! Too many people judge opportunities before they even listen. “You are not from our industry!” or: “This doesn’t work here!” or: “Our people might not like this!” are some of the typical statements I hear. With this mindset, you will never seize the opportunity when it is directly in front of you.

If you want to see more opportunities and grow your success almost instantly, we should talk about my consulting and coaching programs. >>> Click here to set up a phone conversation.<<<

Yes, this is also an opportunity; Risk-free. Will you seize it? Or let it pass like all the others before?
